Supervisors debate loan for softball complex, fire station

 

A decision to borrow $4 million was delayed by the Board of Supervisors following a discussion at their Oct. 7 meeting. Officials will not meet again until Oct. 17 at 5 p.m.

Sam Keyes of Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens and Cannada PLLC, presented four resolutions for supervisors to consider. Two resolutions relating to Feuer Powertrain GmbH and Co., a recently announced industrial venture coming to the county, were approved. Tunica County will borrow approximately $850,000 to purchase 40 acres of land for the manufacturing company.

Message, symbol of unity crossing county lines

For 82 days, teenagers in 82 counties across Mississippi will have an opportunity to do what Jesus asked, taking up the cross and carrying it on a journey to the state capitol. The effort deemed “Mississippi Glowing for Christ” will make its way into Tunica County on Oct. 20 and is a partnership between Mission Mississippi and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
