Chase ends happily

“The sound of a woman’s voice crying, ‘Help me! Help me!” woke me up at six o’clock yesterday morning,” Carolyn Roberts said last Friday, “so I called the police.
“I thought somebody was being attacked.”
Town patrolman Melvin Carter responded to Roberts’ call, and thus began what turned into a three-day “wild bird chase.”

Family support, hard work drive Jones’ success

They say necessity is the mother of invention.
During his senior season on the football field at Rosa Fort High School, Mardis Jones proved this to be true. The Mighty Lion needed a highlight tape to show college football officials what he was capable of as an athlete. After unsuccessfully searching the area for a production company, he knew what the next play would be.
Mardis Jones Films was born.

Parker Graves’ legacy lives on

Parker Graves was by all standards the consummate student-athlete.
By the time he had completed his academic career at Tunica Academy in May 1997, the young man had amassed more honors – both on and off the field – than many entire classes before and after his time.
In addition to being voted “Best All Around Student” and “Mr. TIL” his senior year, Graves was an honors graduate, a National Honor Society inductee, an American Legion Student Award recipient and was listed in Who’s Who Among American High School Students.
