Census figures collected in 2010 indicate that the town of Tunica’s population has decreased by 100 people, according to Mayor Chuck Cariker.
Cariker revealed the figures to the Board of Aldermen on March 1, saying that redistricting of the town’s wards will now be necessary. The board authorized the mayor to approach Chris Watson of Bridge and Watson, who is also handling a redistricting effort for Tunica County. The board must complete redistricting before the next election in two years.
