Threat closes local business
A call-in bomb threat caused the evacuation of a local bank and an area around downtown on Tuesday, March 1.
Around 11 a.m., the Tunica Police Department and Tunica County Sheriff’s Department were summoned to First Security Bank. Authorities ordered personnel to evacuate the building and closed Harris Street, a section of Edwards Avenue and a portion of School Street. The FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms were alerted and on standby.
