Judge cited for conduct
The conduct of a Circuit Court Judge for Tunica, Coahoma and Bolivar counties is now under review by Mississippi‘s highest court.
On March 2, the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance announced that a formal recommendation had been submitted to the state Supreme Court suggesting action against Circuit Court Judge Albert B. Smith. The suggested actions include a $1000 fine, assessed costs of $100 and a public reprimand. A press release issued by the commission says that the group “found that Judge Smith abused his contempt powers and exhibited poor courtroom demeanor.”
