Soldier’s memory rides in with Rivergate Festival
The memory of a local soldier killed in action in 2010 will live on with a special tribute this weekend
The Running of the Hogs, held annually with the Rivergate Festival in downtown Tunica, will pay tribute to the life of William Brandon Dawson. Dawson was killed in Afghanistan in September of 2010.
Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, the Patriot Guard riders will join area motorcycle enthusiasts for a ride from the Blue and White Restaurant to the amphitheatre downtown. The AFJROTC unit from Rosa Fort High School will present the colors, the same presented to Dawson’s mother by the U.S. Army. The flag will be flown, and Chamber officials say that the national anthem will be sung.
