Ten tiny but healthy puppies left Tunica, not quite on a jet plane, but in style nevertheless aboard a TBM turboprop last week, bound for A Second Chance Puppies & Kittens Rescue in West Palm Beach, Fla. Just six days old when their mother was fatally poisoned, the litter was nursed for two weeks by a yellow lab named Sandy, then bottle fed by foster mom Donna Doernbach of Tunica, until they marked their 25th day on a Pilots ‘N Paws flight piloted by Michael Germani of Ft. Lauderdale. Tunica Humane Society members saw the pups off from Tunica Airport to their new home Tuesday, a heartwarming happy ending to the orphans’ story.
