The tale of the little yellow Casino dog
Anyone that frequents the Tunica casinos has seen her. She is the little yellow dog that lives in the wooded ravine across from the Horseshoe. For about the last five years, she has called that ravine her home. She even has a name thanks to the countless casino employees that have cared for her through the years. Everyone calls her “Casino Dog.”
When the Tunica Humane Society organized in 2008, we immediately started getting calls about the little yellow dog. We average five to 10 calls a week, mostly people from out of town that are concerned about the homeless dog. For about a year we made repeated attempts to rescue her, but we finally gave up. She was comfortable in her own little world and wouldn’t allow anyone to get close to her.
