Death of K-9 under review
The details surrounding the death of Atticus, a German shepherd serving with the Tunica County Sheriff’s Department, is now under review.
According to reports, Atticus left the home of his handler, Columbus Jones, in the late afternoon on Thursday, May 26. He traveled to a home on Austin Road, where he was allegedly shot by a citizen. Atticus reportedly sustained four gunshot wounds.
