Arts on Main draws Delta crowd
Despite record, blazing hot temperatures, patrons and artists alike gathered downtown last Friday for the first annual “Arts on Tunica Main” event sponsored by the Tunica Chamber of Commerce and Tunica Main Street. Visitors were treated to cocktails, light hors d’oeuvres, live music and an eclectic array of artwork.
Lynn Ryals was inspired to head up the occasion after visiting Clarksdale and seeing the vibrant arts community that has flourished there. She enlisted the help of Bradley Gordon, of the Gordon Gallery, and Jill Graves to help organize the show. It is her hope that the people of Tunica will develop a similar art scene, giving local artists a venue for their work as well as attracting artists from other areas.
