Candidates court votes for county posts
A debate organized by Roman Fullilove, pastor of Belmont M.B. Church in Prichard, drew a large crowd to the Henderson Recreation Center Tuesday night, as 26 incumbents and challengers made their case to county voters.
The format offered all those seeking election or re-election as county supervisors and superintendent of education a chance to introduce themselves and answer questions posed by a six-member panel.
The panel included Rev. Fullilove; Pastor Evelyn Hubbard of Commerce Boulevard Christian Church in Robinsonville; Dolly Hudson of Dundee; Betty Jo Dulaney, Tunica Literacy Council; Kerry Temple, First Security Bank; and this reporter. Neketta Dean served as the debate moderator.
