Users encouraged to practice ATV safety
Emergency rooms in Mississippi have seen too many children with devastating injuries due to All-Terrain Vehicle crashes.
Doctors hope the tide will change with a new law which goes into effect on July 1.
The Youth ATV Safety Law applies to riding all-terrain vehicles on public lands, such as parks and 16th Section Land. All children under age 16 must wear a helmet and each ATV operator must have either a valid driver’s license or a certificate of completion for an approved ATV safety course.
