Funds to replace appliances available
The State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program a first-come, first-served rebate program encouraging Mississippians to replace energy inefficient appliances with new ENERGY STAR®-qualified appliances, kicked off in Mississippi on April 22. To date, 80 percent of the funds allocated for the program have been reserved.
Mississippi residents interested in participating in this rebate program are encouraged to act quickly to purchase their eligible appliance and reserve a rebate while funds remain.
“The SEEARP has generated a substantial amount of interest throughout the state, and as a result, approximately 80 percent of the funds allocated to Mississippi for the program have been reserved,” said Karen Bishop, stimulus bureau manager for the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA), the agency administering the SEEARP. “Given the program’s success so far, I strongly urge any Mississippi resident interested in taking part in the program to do so soon. The remaining funds will not last long.”
