Now that most immediate disaster needs are met, communities are focusing on their long term recovery. The goal of long term recovery is to reestablish a healthy, functioning community that will sustain itself over time.
“Successful long term recovery is community driven, locally controlled and project-oriented,” said Mississippi Emergency Management Agency Director Mike Womack.
