Devils blank Lee 39-0
Tunica Academy put the lights out on Lee-Marianna last Friday night...in more ways than one.
The Blue Devils got off to a slow start in the first quarter, going up 6-0 on a five-yard run into the end zone by quarterback Brandon Holmes. The PAT kick was no good.
TA’s potent offense kicked it up a notch in the second quarter, however, scoring twice in quick succession on long pass plays from Holmes to Austin Hagstrom and Taylor Watson. Hagstrom took the ball in from 31 yards out, while Watson pulled down a 68-yarder to move the ball to the two yard line. Holmes put the Blue Devils out front 18-0 at the half on first and goal.
During the halftime break, Tunica’s fire department doused a small fire that had broken out in an array of lights along the home sideline, requiring the lights to go down briefly.
