MCAC head soon retiring
On June 16, Dr. Lester Spell Jr., Mississippi’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce, announced his decision to retire at the end of his term.
“After a lengthy time of consideration and discussion with my family, I am announcing my decision to retire at the end of this term to spend more time with my family and with other interests...Because next year, 2011, is an election year, I wanted to make my intentions known now so that potential candidates for this office have ample time to make campaign plans,” Spell said.
