Recycling is the obvious option
It was nice to see that at least part of the Board of Supervisors is finally investigating recycling. Some may recall that we were promised recycling shortly after the advent of casinos – 20+ years ago? I’ve meant to write in about this for several years and hadn’t ever gotten around to it – just like the county. To think of all the tons of paper and plastic hauled to the landfill from the casinos is appalling. The rest of the country is going green, and there’s no question that it’s the only and obvious option.

P.S. Those who throw trash out their car windows probably don’t read the Tunica Times, but there needs to be an educational program to at least teach the children to not litter or that maybe they can pass this along to the adults in their lives. Old 61 rarely gets cleaned up by county crews, and the roadsides are littered with broken beer bottles, cans and takeout McDonald’s bags. If we had recycling....
