Minister's Moment: Beyond the sidewalk
Beyond the Sidewalk
Two Sundays in a row recently I heard sermons on stewardship. Usually, these are the sermons that turn us off the most. We don’t want anyone telling us how much we should give to the church—and we definitely don’t want anyone telling us we should be giving more. That’s our business, isn’t it? Isn’t it?
Actually, only the first sermon was about giving financially—and it was very good. Anyone in that church that morning who didn’t understand it was time to look at his/her financial contribution wasn’t paying attention.
