FTC, Presley taking action against company
Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley announced today that the Mississippi PSC along with the Federal Trade Commission have exchanged information and are pursuing cases against what is believed to be the largest telemarketing scam in years, involving credit card service solicitations.
Presley said PSC enforcement agents recently filed a case claiming multiple violations of Mississippi law against Roy Cox, Jr. of Santa Ana, California along with several U.S. based companies and some international companies owned by Cox. The PSC’s action comes on the heels of a case filed by the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice against Cox and his companies for similar violations of federal law.
