Pilot program successful
When Coahoma Community College’s elegant 2011 Homecoming gala raised more than $90,000 from alumni and supporters to retain “At-Risk” students, it was a lofty goal to keep them in college through graduation.
Today the lofty goal is achieving reality and combating negative factors that lead to school dropout, report organizers.
“Thirty-five young men referred by the Student Judicial Council are benefiting from our intense pilot project: the Coahoma Male,” says Dr. Greg Hudson, CCC vice president of student affairs and creator of the program.
