Employee insurance raises questions
A crowd of county employees spilled into the hallway outside the Board of Supervisors meeting room, where officials again took up health insurance matters during their June 15 meeting.
A motion by District 2 Supervisor Cedric Burnett to solicit requests for proposals for health insurance died for lack of a second.
Prior to that motion, Board president James Dunn introduced the topic, saying it was his recommendation to remain with the current plan under Cigna. Burnett agreed.
District 5 Supervisor McKinley Daley said he would like to see the county change to the plan proposed by Nick Floyd and Associates.
“I just don’t think you understand everything,” Burnett said.
Dunn asked Board attorney Andy Dulaney to address the issue.
