Aldermen incorporate recycling, review fine collections
Green was definitely the color of the day at the Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, June 19. Officials discussed a new recycling effort and ways to collect outstanding fines from municipal court.
Mayor Chuck Cariker said Waste Management, which handles town garbage collections, had agreed to provide the town a recycling bin for $100 per month. The bin will be located on the concrete pad near the MarketPlace. Cariker said it will be emptied as it gets full, and the Town will not be responsible for sorting goods.
Cariker said more details will be available in coming weeks.
