When her daughter Janice was just four months old, Patricia Allen received some unexpected news that would change her life forever.
“I got a letter from the hospital saying she had failed her hearing test,” recalled Allen.
“It was something that was pretty hard – looking at this baby for four months, thinking everything was OK, only to find out she was deaf. I just didn’t know what to do.”
