Author uses roots to reach youth
A Tunica native has written an autobiography he hopes will serve as an inspiration to at-risk youth, and a means for keeping them from making destructive decisions in life.
Dennis Turner, who now lives in Olive Branch and works as a health and physical education teacher in Memphis, released the book, an against-all-odds story of overcoming and making the right choices in life.
“I started the book in October of last year and finished it in March of this year,” Turner said of his book, titled The Boy From the Ditch. “The book is actually the story of my life.
