Cookin with The Columns: A taste of days gone by
Last week I gave you a recipe from the cookbook that was published by the Tunica Woman’s Club in 1921. Some of the recipes included ingredients that most of us don’t use any more: lard, for instance. A recipe for biscuits called for “one light quart of flour, lump of lard the size of a goose egg, level t. salt, and a gill of sweet milk. Beat until the dough blisters well.”
