Locals tour wonders of nation’s capital
At 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 7 a group of travelers met at Richard Fullilove’s house to leave for Memphis International Airport. The group boarded a Delta Airlines plane and headed for Washington D.C. around 9:50 a.m. The plane landed in Washington around 1:30 D.C. time. The group rode the Metro to the Embassy Suites Hotel located at Chevy Chase Pavilion. While in Washington the group toured the Smithsonian, the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, the Holocaust Museum, Mt. Vernon, the Supreme Court, and the White House. The Reagan Building Food Court and Union Station were two particular places of interest where the group had lunch.
