Help coming for uninsured in Tunica Co.
Uninsured and underinsured Tunica County residents will soon be able to save money on prescription drugs and customary dental services, thanks to the county’s membership in a national government association.
As part of its membership in the National Association of County Officials (NACO), Tunica County is able to enroll in the discount programs which, thanks to the size of NACO’s membership, will mean savings for eligible residents.
“It’s two programs we’re enrolling in – one is a discount prescription drug program and the other one is a discount dental program,” said Tunica County Supervisor Phillis Williams. “It’s for all the residents who don’t have insurance. It’s not something for those who already have insurance coverage.”
According to Williams, there is no cost for the county to participate in either program, which is made available to all counties holding an active membership in NACO.
