After the smoke cleared Saturday, September 15, the BBQ team named Boar’s Night Out emerged from a field of 63 competitors as the 2012 Smokin’ Aces BBQ Championship contest grand champions.
For their barbecuing brawn, Boar’s Night Out took home $10,000 in cash. Boar’s Night Out’s prize package included: $5,000 for grand champion, $2,500 for first place in the whole hog category, $2,500 for first place in the shoulder category, an invitation into the 2013 Memphis Barbecue Network Championship, an entry into the 2012 World Food Championships featuring Adam Richman in Las Vegas, and an invitation into the 2013 Memphis in May Barbecue Championship.
