Northwest program offers career path
There is a popular commercial on television these days that features a green line appearing to show a person which path to take financially in order to achieve success in retirement. Here in north Mississippi, one “green line” for successful achievement of a career path is readily available through Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Workforce Development programs.
The Career Accelerated Pathway (CAP) seeks to combine career skills training with adult basic education, to accelerate achievement in workforce certificates, industry-recognized credentials and degree courses, award college credit for prior learning and align with local industry needs. Northwest is one of the four members of the Mississippi Corridor Consortium (MCC), who have agreed upon the CAP program as a means for individuals to reach their career goals.
