John Battle Houston Hamrac, 11, son of Norma Roberson (Patrick) of Helena, AR, and James Houston Hamrac III of Mobile, AL, died February 4, 2013.
John Battle was a Boy Scout, a football and basketball player and just won third place in the county spelling bee. He was an avid reader and read Wikipedia in his spare time. His other favorite pastime was spinning his globe, stopping it with his finger and learning everything he could about that country. He inherited his great-grandfather’s (Paul Battle, Jr.) photographic memory and could remember everything he read.
