Local blood drive to kick off Donate Life month
Rosa Fort High School will be holding a blood drive on Tuesday, April 9, from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The MBS Donor Coach will be on site.
If the donation goal is met, donors will get to celebrate with a pizza party! Seniors who donate at both school year drives will receive red cords to wear for graduation. All donors will receive a free T-shirt.
April is Donate Life Month—a month set aside to help raise awareness for the need for organ donations. While the prospect of donating an organ can be sobering, there is one part of yourself you can donate with little or no risk at all to your health: blood. Ironically, blood is usually the one thing a patient cannot be put on a waiting list for—if blood isn’t available when the patient needs it, it is likely the patient will never need it or anything else again.
