Rivergate Festival organizers embracing stormy past
Rain and wind, thunder and lightning may have spoiled some festivals past, but this year, organizers are “going with the flow” and incorporating spring’s unpredictable weather into the 21st annual Rivergate Festival April 18-20.
“We’ve just decided to use the weather to our advantage,” Chamber CEO Lyn Arnold said. “We may even have to manufacture some raindrops if it’s sunny.”
Festival posters and advertising feature an outsize pair of rain boots decorated with symbols of all the things that make Rivergate fun: music, crawfish, barbecue, cars, bikes, and even a nod to an arena equine event that has coincided with the festival weekend for 10 years.
