On the Doorstep: Fox and other tales
For as long as we have lived on Main Street South, our backyard and those of our adjoining neighbors have been havens for all sorts of wildlife.
Rabbits inhabit the “briar patches” down along Sugar Ditch, until the clover lures them out of hiding and into our view. Owls call and answer in the predawn hours. Bats swirl around the chimney when mosquito season is in full swing.
