Town nixes sale of land for ‘safe room’
The Town of Tunica took action on a county request for almost seven acres of land for use by the FEMA Safe Room 361 program.
In executive session, aldermen unanimously voted not to donate or sell the land, located between Old U.S. 61 and new 61 north of the city limits. The matter was considered in executive session as part of the “real estate” exception to open meetings laws.
