Northwest Foundation reports increase in contributions in 2013
The Northwest Mississippi Community College Foundation Board of Directors held its first quarterly meeting on Feb. 18. Sybil Canon, associate vice president of development and special projects presented a report on the contributions and endowment earnings for 2013. She reported that contributions exceeded $800,000, which reflected a 30 percent increase in giving over contributions in 2012.
Kelly Bolton of Cook and Bolton Wealth Management Group gave the board an extensive look at the endowment earnings as of Feb. 14. She reported that the value of the endowment, including contributions and earnings, was $8,286,393. Bolton stated that the overall rate of return for 2013 was 10.94 percent.
