Guest Column: Faith is believing beyond our own comprehension
IF THERE COULD have been a more beautiful Easter weekend, I could not have imagined it.
April in Mississippi is my favorite month. The weather is mild and life is springing anew.
I attended three services in three days at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Ridgewood Road, perhaps a personal church-going record.Covenant is a lovely church, not too big, not too small, with an eclectic mix of personable and intelligent Christians.
The Rev. Steve Burton had a great Easter sermon. He pointed out that all of the disciples scattered in fear after Christ’s arrest. Yet each of them went on to suffer terrible challenges and eventual death, as they fearlessly tackled the immense task of spreading the good news.
