Jr. Blue on the road this week
The Tunica Academy Jr. Blue Devils look to get back on the winning track this week, after a slow start on their home field last Thursday. TA fell 28-22 to AA opponents Marshall Academy.
A rematch against district rival DeSoto takes the Jr. Blue to West Helena, where TA hopes to avenge their first meeting with the Jr. Thunderbirds, a 24-8 loss.
Marshall jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead last week, but the scrappy Blue Devils came back on the first drive of the second half, with a nice catch by Jeffrey Horn putting the Devils in scoring position. Quarterback Rip Kirk took it into the end zone from 30 yards out, and Arnaldo Ferretiz added two on the conversion run.
