I got into soccer coaching by accident.  Our school’s athletic director needed someone to coach boys’ intramural soccer.  I was a male who had no after school responsibilities.  It was a marriage of convenience, but I found I loved coaching.  By the time I “retired” due to lack of time, I had coached boys and girls, young children through high school players.  Coaching was, for me, a natural complement to my teaching.
