Organizers’ expectations exceeded by benefit
Love and generosity flowed like water at Saturday’s benefit for Madysen Acey, even before a light rain near dark sent most of the activity from the parking lot to indoors at The Catfish Warehouse in Tunica.
Over $65,000 was raised from a variety of activities, including food and beverage sales, live and silent auctions, and admissions.
“All week long, I was praying for the benefit to make $20,000, and then when the chemical companies came through, I thought maybe $25,000, but I never dreamed it would bring in what it did,” organizer JoAnn Ware said Monday.
