Police cars headed to new homes
“You have the right to take your patrol car home” may have been read to town police officers following the Board of Aldermen meeting on Nov. 16.
Mayor Chuck Cariker introduced the topic for discussion, saying that currently two officers live in the city limits, two live in the county and four live outside of the county.
He then called on Police Chief Richard Veazey to offer his opinion.
Veazey said taking patrol cars home would keep the cars “newer longer.”
“If you assign everyone a car, they seem to take care of it better,” Veazey said.
