Welcome Centers host Dec. open house
Throughout the month of December, the Mississippi Welcome Centers will be offering visitors a sampling of the southern hospitality and unique holiday experience available in Mississippi. Featuring live local entertainment, tasty refreshments and colorful displays, these open house celebrations are an annual tradition that offers something special to what otherwise might be an ordinary rest stop.
“Because the Mississippi Welcome Centers are the first stop for many visitors traveling to the state, the holiday open house celebrations are a great way to introduce travelers to the distinctive traditions and down-home atmosphere that radiates across Mississippi during the holiday season and year-round,” said Tonya Neely, Welcome Center & Visitor Services bureau manager for the Mississippi Development Authority’s Tourism Division, which staffs the Welcome Centers.
