Northwest strives to educate educators
The Jan. 10 registration deadline is approaching for three courses that are designed specifically for educators and offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Continuing Education—Make and Take File Folders for Teachers (K-3), Spanish for Educators and Classroom Discipline for Elementary Teachers.
Make and Take File Folders for Teachers (K-3) offers educators an affordable way to enhance learning for young children. Participants will create educational games and activities made from manila file folders. The folders will provide children with hands-on opportunities to practice basic skills, such as matching, sorting, patterning, categorization, color identification, shape identification, number skills, counting, simple computation skills, letter identification, beginning phonics skills and much more.
Some supplies will be provided, however, each student will need to bring adult scissors, one bottle of rubber cement, one bottle of glue or glue stick, crayons, magic markers & clear shipping tape.
