Revenue forecast forces look at budget
The financial picture of the town of Tunica came into focus at the Board of Aldermen meeting on Tuesday, May 18.
Mayor Chuck Cariker said the gaming revenue received by the Town of Tunica was slightly up from previous months. The town received $324,248.18 at the beginning of May.
Cariker said he anticipates revenues in June will fall below May’s totals, calling for several amendments to the budget for the month of May.
“We’ve got some tough decisions ahead,” Cariker said, asking all aldermen to assemble a list of areas where they felt cutbacks could be made. “That way we’re not getting into the budget process without a plan.”
