Dig at Beaver Dam may reveal ancient secrets
For several years, John Conaway, field archaeologist for the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, has been trying to resolve some unanswered questions about the Indians that lived near Beaver Dam.
Remote sensing was used to take electronic computer images of the area around two years ago. The images revealed features under the top layer of soil that appear to be houses, pits, and a large circle about twenty meters in diameter.
