County looks at employee insurance
County supervisors are mulling a change in the group health insurance plan offered to its 309 employees and their families. That discussion dominated Monday’s regular meeting, as the Board grappled with the ins and outs of what has become a very complicated issue nationally.
The Board heard a presentation last week from Nick Floyd & Associates of Mendenhall and Greenville for a Humana cafeteria plan to replace the county’s current coverage with Cigna.

Arena ropes world event
The Paul Battle Arena and Expo Center today announced that the facility will be the new host of the Palomino Horse Breeders of America World Show through 2015. The first PHBA World Show will be held at the arena in July 2013.
“Getting this event is huge, because it’s a world-level event,” said Rebecca Fyfe, administrative manager at Arena and Expo Center. “It’s here for two weeks, and extended events are good for the Tunica economy. The World Show is a longer, more efficient event that supports our ideas for growth.”
