Board considers road bids
The Board of Supervisors got good news and bad news with bids for paving in two areas of the county.
Memphis based contractor Lehman-Roberts was the sole bidder for jobs at Canal Park and a 2.4 mile section of Old U.S. 61. Estimates for the overlay on the old highway were lower than projected, but upgrades at Canal Park subdivisions were more than expected. County engineer Daniel Murphy reviewed both bids, before presenting a recommendation to the board.

Willows reopens with bang
Tucked away in a dense pocket of vegetation across the Yazoo-Mississippi Delta levee, two mechanized traps sit fully loaded, waiting for the operator to launch a seemingly endless cache of clay disks into the sky.
“Pull,” commands a shooter, looking down the barrel of a Beretta 12-guage as a bright orange clay pigeon arches high in the air from behind the limb of a wild pecan. Reaching its apex, the clay shatters into dozens of pieces as a rattling “boom” pierces the air.
Main Street welcomes resale store shooting
Shoppers can now find a treasure trove of bargains on everything from wall art and clothing to antiques at Tunica’s newest downtown business.
According to Dee Little, co-owner of Cliff & Dee’s Resale Shop, shoppers can expect savings of up to 75 percent off retail on a number of items sold both on consignment and a traditional retail basis.
