County shows good growth since 2000
The population of Tunica County has increased 17 percent, or 1551 people since the year 2000, to 10,778 residents, according to census figures released this month.
The increase is slightly less than pre-census estimates, which pegged the county population at just over 11,000.
Meanwhile, the town of Tunica’s population has declined 102 people, from 1132 in the year 2000 to this year’s 1030.
