Sales tax holiday set for July 29, 30
The upcoming sales tax holiday will be a big help to small businesses still struggling to recover from the recession, says Ron Aldridge, state director of NFIB/Mississippi, the state’s largest small-business association.
This year’s holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 29, and ends at midnight Saturday, July 30, and is worth a savings of 7 percent on specific items.
“Our country may be two years into the economic recovery, but small-business owners are still worried, especially when it comes to consumer spending,” Aldridge said.
