The annual BancorpSouth 2+2 Scholarship Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Cherokee Valley Golf Club, in Olive Branch. All proceeds from the tournament go to the 2+2 Scholarship Initiative, a joint effort between Northwest Mississippi Community College and The University of Mississippi to raise funds for DeSoto County residents attending DeSoto Center.
This year’s tournament in honor of Dr. Bonnie Buntin, who served as the Dean of The University of Mississippi—DeSoto Center for the past 15 years. The proceeds from this year’s tournament will be used to fund The Dr. Bonnie Buntin 2 + 2 Endowed Scholarships at both Northwest and The University of Mississippi. Recipients of the Buntin Endowments will be students who are residents of DeSoto County and who are attending the DeSoto Center.
