Judge finds ‘malfeasance’ by school board
Former Rosa Fort High School principal Stan Collins may be returning to the Tunica County School District, attorney Willie Griffin of Greenville says, after Chancery Court Jon Barnwell ruled on August 15 that TCSD acted without a proper vote on Collin’s continued employment for the 2010-2011 school year.
Judge Barnwell reversed TCSD’s effective termination of Collins and ordered the school board “to make decisions consistent with the findings of the Court and any legal obligation of the Board under its contract of employment with (Collins).”
“We have sent a demand and are expecting to hear from (the board),” Griffin said in a telephone interview last week.
Griffin said he expects Tunica County Schools to pay Collins for the 2010-2011 school year and bring Collins back into the system. Collins is not presently working anywhere else, Griffin added.
